Dominic Lawson is a native of Memphis, Tennessee who is dedicated to empowering people to move society forward. After his service in the Army, he returned to banking and pursued a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  In 2014, he co-founded an educational consulting firm, OWLS, LLC, with his wife Kenda Lawson. At Owls, he serves as its COO as they create curriculum and provide professional development to schools, school districts, non-profits, and corporations.

In today’s episode of Small-Time Leaders, Dominic Lawson shares how a lesson at a young age helps him to this day. When he was a teenager, Dominic lost his job because of poor grades in school. He shares how that turning point experience guided him long-term and how his mentor’s  coaching tree  expand every time Dominic helps out someone else in business and life.

Since 2016, Dominic has been the host of The Startup Life Podcast giving his audience the edge it needs in building their businesses and climbing the corporate ladder. Due to his podcasting success, he co-founded The Binge Podcast Network in late 2018 with his good friend Ron Brooks. At The Binge, Dominic serves as showrunner and is responsible for adding and creating new shows for the network.

Dominic is also the current board president of the non-profit Hot Foot Honey's, Memphis' first and only tap dance company. Embark Alumnus of The New Memphis Institute. Dominic's current community service commitments include Coach/Mentor at LITE Memphis, Mentor at STS Enterprise, and Corporate sponsor of the Westwood PTSA. Lawson’s core belief is that “success is ninety percent planning and ten percent execution.”
